Camera flash ignition help.

So I modded the camera and all and it works great. The only thing is, how do you get a spark without touching it to anything? I put the electrodes really close together and the only way I can get them to spark is to either touch them together or touch them to metal. Any suggestions?

In a nutshell, there are a number of ways to do it: use the trigger electrode, run it through a step-up transformer, use the lamp to switch it etc.
