Hey guys,
I've had the idea of moding a simple el cheapo' foot pump into a 300psi monster by completely rebuilding the steel frame around it, adding a new guage, adding a new hose and strengthening the check valve in it. Does anyone know if this can be done or has been done before?
High pressure foot pump?

The cylinder is far too wide for high pressure, what you want is small bore and long stroke, which is why high pressure pumps are usually long, thin stirrup pumps.
Also, the frame of foot pumps is very weak, you'd have to replace all the components anyway, might as well build it from new.

Yeah thats what I thought. Even with my body weight planting the pedal down, at 200+ psi, my leg is gonna get pretty sore pretty quick. Blegh...I don't even know why I'm thinking of making another spudgun. My small bore piston guns have just lost the plot, I can't get them working anymore... I just wanna move to Macleay Island and make my 300psi 1.5m long marble gun

I don't think this is exactly heavy duty. I got one that looks almost exactly like that (it has a plastic black schrader adapter instead of a metal one) from Walgreens, and when I stepped on the adapter/hose, it broke. I'd just try to make your own pump if you want to go to 300psi.

Yea make your own pump like ragnarok did for his heal cannon.
Yeah I know, It's absolutely piss weak. Hence why I said that I'd completely rebuid it haha. The one that I used to have, went up to 150psi quite easily before the hose would just blow off... With a bit of engineering, I'm sure I get get to 200.

I have almost that exact pump. It's durable, but it's a p.o.s. in terms of flow and max pressure. Just build your own, or get a shock pump.
Yeah, we wouldn't want to anger the bees, now would we??

Hand crank and a jack shaft? Just buy a small bore air ram and check valves coupled to a geared down (or up) hand crank and crankshaft. If you get a double acting ram then the force on the wheel is always the same (for the most part) and you get twice the air per stroke. Plus you could use it to pull a vacuum for whatever reason. Just chop an old kids bike and add some metal and junk. Plus if you have a compressor you could get it to 100psi first. If you use a typical cordless drill those are 1/2 horsepower give or take (for a real brand).
