I was wondering what i will need for the basic of basic pneumatic spud gun. even though it doesn't have to shoot spuds. i was thinking marbles but that's another story. i wanna build one to see if it's something I'd be interested in.so what are the basics and does anyone have a link to some basic building plans. i do have an air compressor by the way.

shrader is a fill valve you know those ones on bike tires ? yea those, reducers ar pvc fittings that reduce the pvc size say from 2'' to 1'' or somthing, you could you a ball valve but id say just go with a modifyed sprinkler valve check the how-to' part to find out more.

just look in the pneumatic cannon showcase for a canno you like the look of and work out a design from there, the simplest i can think of (not including ball valves) is to use a sprinkler valve and have an in-line style cannon like this one http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/melkors ... -t150.html :)

I did a little searching and looking at the wiki before i made this post, so please don't tell me to search. i was directed here by a friend and i would like to have his view of this forum as well. i just asked a very simple question, and i can deal with a simple answer.it would take less time to just give a straight answer than to have a long drawn out talk such as this.

EDIT i was talking to the guy with the monkey i con. thanks guys.

EDIT:EDIT http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v344/ ... G_0139.jpg

something like that would be good. how would i go about that.

Well then you should know what a schrader is then, at least.

Well, besides that, you should just go with a simply modified sprinkler valve, which can be found how to do in our how-to section, make sure you use pressure rated fittings with NSF-pw, (look for thst insignia on the fitting), make the chamber bigger than the barrel, and that should be good.
Attach the schrader to the chamber too, and try to get one that has threads.

Yay 500, Colonel :) :snorting: :walk: :triplets:

You need to get an end cap that matches your chamber size, a chamber, a coupling the same size as your chamber and a reducing bushing to put in the coupling.you need some pipe the same size as your bushing reduces to.You need a valve I would recommend a sprinkler valve but a ball valve is fine for a first pnuematic. And if you use a sprinkler valve you need two treaded adapters the same size as the valve and then if you want to have a smaller or larger barrel than the sprinkler valve you need a reduce bushing that goes to the desired barrel size and then a desired length of your chosen size for the barrel.

What do you need?
Well you probably should check out the link in my signature entitled “spudgun safety rules”; don’t want you or anybody else getting hurt, and even the simplest of “spudguns”, particularly the one that shoot hard projectiles, can do some pretty potent damage.

Also you need to be welcomed to the forums, so…

Welcome to the forums! :)

I'm not going to say you need to search, but you need to read some more about the spud guns on the forums. your asking for someone to come over to your house with all the supplies and build it for you.
