Firstly, Hello Spudfiles :)

Well i'm pretty much ready to start building, just received my last component which is the ignitor. I'm here to ask, well - Will it work? and how can I make it work. I got it from a friend who works with boiler fitting and this is used to ignite the pilot light or something :p

Here's some pics of it (Apologies for quality)

The fitting on the end is removable by the way.

and here's the cannon design I am aiming for; Nice and simple :)

Thanks in advance, fellas.

If that is just a regular piezo/bbq ignitor, there is no doubt that it will work, you may have some miss-fires but no worry, just ignite again :D

Been thanked: 1 time

It will work fine, although it may die out after repetitive use, depending on quality.

And welcome to Spudfiles :D .

Fit the ignitor through two layers of PVC (through a fitting) otherwise you may cause structural damage to the pipe.

I ended up just running two screws, one on each side until they were the appropriate distance apart. That kept it to two small holes instead of one large one. Also, it allowed me to place the ignitor in the center of the chamber through one layer instead of two layers.

Do a quick search for 'peizo ignitor'. That's the quickest way to get a response to an answer. There's several posts on this.
