This may be posted but I cant find it in a search.....

When should a cannon be retired?

I know there are a lot of variables but is there a good time frame....1yr, 2yrs, as long as you feel it is safe!

The reason I ask is that I have a pvc pneumatic that I built 2 yrs ago. I shoot it the other day and it seemed fine. But as I ate my dinner I was questioning the age of the pvc. I know that pvc shatters and I don't feel like piking plastic out of my a** when it explodes.

Mr.C: That's not as easy as you think. It's like me kicking you in the balls and telling you to stop crying.

I've found pvc that sat in the sun outside for probably 20+ years, and though it was yellow inside, I would say it had enough strength to be used in a spray n' pray. I could break the stuff with a hammer, but I had to hit it pretty hard.

A couple years probably won't make any difference, even for a pneumatic. In the 5-10 year range I would start to remote fire it (or just use a metal gun).

Nice looking gun... If I were you I'd keep using it.
