i know what you mean.
if you are good to weld and makeing a steel gun you can use a pipe and a plate then cut a piece out of the plate the same diameter as your pipe then you weld the plate on the outside of your "output" and weld it on!
make some holes for the bolts and there you go
sorry bad english and stuff "it is night hear"

In other words does anyone know how to mount this fitting to a PVC chamber and barrel?

Nah no way without welding. just buy a sprinkler or make a piston.
With some basic plumbing knowledge, this question can easily be answered, and the answer is yes.
That butterfly valve of yours mounts on a 3" flange, which is a premade, commonly available version of what spudfarm was trying to describe. All you need to do is get a 3" iron/steel flange with threaded connections, and the right bolt circle diameter to connect it with. Then you just tighten the appropriate size of bolts through the holes on the flanges on each side, and screw that onto the PVC threads.

They also make PVC flanges that could be directly solvent welded to the chamber.DYI wrote:All you need to do is get a 3" iron/steel flange with threaded connections, and the right bolt circle diameter to connect it with. I think that the steel bolts and knuts might wear on the PVC over time, and considering how cheap the flanges would be, I personally don't think it's worth the risk.
