piston valve gets you all round best performance and flow.
Pretty basic to build too.
and once they are built, you are done, inlike with burst discs.
You would not want a burst disc on a 2" at 500 psi, trust me
even if you could find a suited material.
You need ABSOLUTE control.

It strikes me as funny that you just described my current setup exactly. As long as the disks are calibrated well enough, built consistently, and you know the burst pressure, it is quite feasible. You would not want a burst disc on a 2" at 500 psi, trust me
even if you could find a suited material.

So to make it feasable, you will need to calibrate your burst disc, build consistenlty and accurately know your burst pressure??
Wow...that does sound...quite...ehm yeah...
Go for the piston valve, buddy...Safer, straight to the point and easier to get it right.

Agreed, jack you have more knowledge, common sense and, resources than most here.
I didn't say that a TBD valve was practical, only that it was possible. I don't really like them that much myself...
And this may be a stupid question, but which Jack are you referring to Pizlo? Because JSR never posted on this thread.

I dont understand some peopleDYI wrote: I don't really like it that much myself...
Because Im lovin it

Sorry for this pointless post
Get a triggered burst disk. look it up on the wiki, they use a needle to pop it.
Otherwise use a piston valve like everyone else said. Make it out of something hard.. Like steel or have a good backing. I mean really good. Because 500PSI of force slamming back a piston made of solid, heavy steel must hurt...
