well, inspired by jrs's high velocity 6mm i set out to break the sound barrier my self :) I have made the chamber out of 3/4 inch sch 80 pvc fittings...

To have an idea of what airsoft BBs do approaching the speed of sound have a look here ;)

Well, I've been trying different types of high pressure burst discs lately. My gun stopped working as a hybrid, no idea why. I have my meter length...

Well, Im back with a new valve I machined myself for my .25 Gunpower stealth airgun.

Decided to shoot some airsoft BB's and see how fast they were...

Well..... up to the size that the launcher could effectivley launch the Chrony with its muzzle blast, my statement stands.

Maybe it is dirt/debris...

when I put nothing in the barrel and just inject propane...

Think of it as, the ammo usually absorbs the energy, but without it, all that goes into sound.
Not really all of it - sound is mercifully low...
