12g C02 Adapter?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

I am trying to build a small potato gun for the under barrel of my paintball gun.

Its a small air tank with a fat barrel and solenoid valve for triggering it.

I want to use a 12g c02 tank to pressurize the tank.

How do i build a rig out of parts from home depot capable of piercing the c02 tank with a good seal to fill the tank?

I have seen the small bike pump adapter things but that is like $30 extra.

That's about your only bet if you want to buy locally. Your best bet would be to find a 12g quick change adapter.

I found those bike adapters for $10 but they use special threaded 16g tanks meaning you have to buy theirs. I might not even need a c02 tank, i thought of another idea.

I can just go old fashioned and use a bike pump lol!

Or i can use a small electric tire pump and 2 lantern battery's to pressurize it but i don't know how long it would take one to pressurize a small tank to about 150psi.

...and you want to use a bike pump or compressor? That would only allow one shot.

I would like multiple shots but i don't know where to get an air source other than c02 tanks on the field.

I have 2 x 20oz c02 tanks and an old spyder hose line with the tank adapter. I could use this but the pressure from the tank is dangerous. Its at like 800psi or more unregulated, i can regulate it about 300psi if i use my spyder regulator. But still 300psi is a lot of pressure and the only thing that can take that pressure is steel pipe.

This is still way to much pressure but how much air comes out of the tanks? I mean if its slow i can put a gauge on it and then take it off before it reaches 150 or 200psi. I can also screw the tank in about half way which causes the tank to open a little bit thus causing the pressure to rise slowly.

This is sounding like a large gun so its no longer going to be an under barrel it will be a separate launcher on my back. This enables a longer barrel and more space.

Also do you know any cheap places to get a cheap solenoid valve capable of 100 - 150psi?

Consider copper pipe. You would be able to build your M203 style launcher and use unregulated CO2.

I would really love to get one of those 16 gram tire inflaters and adapt the sawed-off to work off of those. Then install a break barrel on it in the caliber that accepts the empty bulb.

Pssshhh...*KLUNK-clack* boom!

I'll have to look into that...
