All I have to add is that the fastest valve will not necessarily be the best valve for golf balls: The projetile is relatively dense, and it accelerates relatively slowly. There will be plenty of time for the valve to open before the golf ball has come very far.

If you want to shoot golf balls, any piston valve, burst disk or DFTV should be fine.

If you want to evaluate valve speeds, use a tennis ball in short barrel. There, the opening speed really makes a difference.
