Thanks for the props this cannon was just finished just before my neck surgery. The only thing that has been down the barrel so far has been a couple of wire nuts. I will post the pics asap It put a wire nut through 3/4" ply @ 300psi most of the way through a 3/4" laminate counter top.

Very nice cannon, it looks top notch, and I am sure it preforms just as well.
It reminds me of something you would see as a prop in a movie scene panning over various inventions of a frenzied late 19th century tinkerer.
It is always great to see such nice creations from a new member. I hope you stick around!

Oh I'm not denying that, it's much better than anything I've built. I've no money to spend on cannons.STHORNE wrote:lol, its a kick-*** gun...lets just leave it at that

If you don't mind crashdaddio...could you possibly post more pics?
like of the view from back and front, and one of you holding the gun (size comparison).
Also, thats a sick pressure gauge (from what I can see). Is it brass or did you paint it?

Looks to me like it hasn't been painted or anything.

Yeah, i know...thats what i thought too but questioned it because I have never seen a pressure gauge that small with a brass casing...paaiyan wrote:Looks to me like it hasn't been painted or anything.
usually the industrial ones for the high pressure (1-8k psi) hydraulic systems are usually seen with brass casings but this just strikes me as very odd/rare! Awesome find (if it is brass).

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Boredom and hint of insanity can create some cool stuff.
So your saying if I become mentally unstable and really bored, I can make better cannons?crashdaddio wrote:Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Boredom and hint of insanity can create some cool stuff.
lol...well, if you have enough time, devotion and determination to get the job done, anything is possible in the world of spuds!
