well.......

I have been trying for quite a while now to construct a gun that uses no fittings and is somewhat a scaled up version of Jack's Pengun. Finally, i have suceeded.

The barrel of this gun is 12 inches of .25 OD .177 ID aluminum tubing i bought from my hobby store, and the chamber is a 12 inch length of 1/2 inch type L copper.

for a piston, I used a .3 inch section of 17/32 OD brass tubing filled with epoxy. the sealing face is a peice of sillocone stolen from a useless baking sheet thing and CA glued on the front.

As for Pilot and Fill, i used a Presta valve i stole from a Road bike Inner Tube. sadly, when i epoxied this in place it fell over during curing.........

so... without further Adue i give you the .177 Stick Gun: (sorry no Internal Pics)

it shoots at about 700 FPS at 300 PSI, about the power of my air rifle.

the only thing i had to buy for this gun was the epoxy ($3.50) and the barrel ($1.25) so therefore about $4.75....... so pretty cheap.

and it works like a dream...........

nice and simple but if it is no better than your riffle why not try to make it more powerful?

Thats insane. I have several questions...
How do you fill it?
Is the chamber inside the barrel?
What do you shoot?
Is it accurate?

well, i forgot to put a quarter or something in the background to show the size but like i mentioned its about a foot long and 1/2 inch in diameter.

As for a how-to, when i construct another one of these (and trust me i sure as hell will) i will post a detailed-as-possible how-to. these arent hard to construct.... but take a bit to understand.

@pvcpsyco: I fill it and pilot it from the Presta fill valve in the back. if you want another picture i will post the picture i have of its "rear end". As for the chamber inside the barrel, yes, it is a Coaxial, but i think you got mixed up a little bit.......... as for what i shoot.... anything that fits. my favorite is .177 cal BB's but i forgot to put a magnet inside of it to make the BB not roll out..... so as of now i shoot shiskebob skewrs.

accurate? not really....... the farthest ive hit a can was about 5 feet. its kind of awkward to shoot. more of a "collectors item" than a practical gun.

haha they sure do!!! you dont have to fiddle around with something to poke at....... and by screwing the little nut on the top down tight you can have a saftey...... always nice....

problem is getting them is a mild pain.

Just a question though, how do you get your prestas to 300 psi? Most presta pumps are only rated to 160, and i blew mine up at 210 the other day. Did you use a shock pump with an adapter for a presta?

i use a shock pump with an adapter. works like a charm.

also, i happen to have a CO2 inflator that hooks up to presta valves....... i dont trust my gun under 1000 PSI of CO2 though.........

Nice vid VH. looks like it had a wee bit of recoil too. :D I hope to post mine as well if i can steal my sisters camera. Is the inflator made to put all the pressure to go in the tire, or can you kind of regulate the pressure in like having a trigger and going up in short increments? Or does the cartridge just bust and have no way of holding the pressure back? Not familiar with these co2 fillers.

Well, from what it seems like, the CO2 inflators have NO regulator, meaning it would fill my gun to about 900 PSI......... meaning........ it will most likely explode

i suppose you could just give it little shots out of the thing, but it just wouldnt be safe..........
