Bolt pressure/leaking?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Hi,
I am finishing up my first coax and I had the idea for an internal barrel support so it doesn't wobble. I was going to put 3 or maybe 4 1" bolts as the suport, drilled in from the outside. I only have one question.

Is using bolts on a pressurized pipe as supports a bad idea?

Yeah, just be sure to add teflon, and/or epoxy to the threads .

Why don't you drill them halfway through the barrel wall 180 degrees apart and spaced in "disks" about a foot apart, and then glue barrel/bushing into the chamber? If you do drill from the outside (which I don't recommend seeing that it's safer and relatively easy to use the method above), go through a double layer of PVC, and use teflon, or some washers, a nut, and some neoprene or other rubber.

For reasons I'd rather not explain, the way I described is the only way I can do it. All I'm asking is if it will hold the pressure or leak?

Oh, thanks blind. Didn't see your response at first and I just got some more epoxy rated to 3500 PSI :)

EDIT: Damn, I knew I hit "edit"... oh well.

Have you considered something like this?

Those are slices off a ring welded to the barrel.

The idea is that the three "slices", keep the barrel centered in the chamber.

No extra holes in the chamber to leak.

Is that not what you were looking for? :?
