Stating the obvious, you are sure it's a pressure regulator, not a flow regulator right?
Because a flow reg won't be any use for this.

LOL...it is abviouslty NOT that obvious I just went to home depot and lucked out by finding the black kind thats pictured here in this thread by Starman, and I picked one up. It sais clearly "Regulator" on the package, while the other one I originally purchased sais "air adjusting valve" or something like that. It is likely a flow regulator, which makes perfect sense and explains why it was functioning like it was. Man thats an easy mistake to make for sure.

Installed new regulator and it works fairly well. MUCH better of course than the freakin flow valve did lol. The pressure fluctuates slightly, sometimes about 10 PSI, but generally seems to hold a fairly stable, or at least stable enough pressure for the propane injection. I did some test firing in the garage with tennis balls and shot at the garage door (wooden) and after seeing the mark and slight dent I wont be doing that again. It is nice and loud which is great and packs a decent wallop. I will submit pics later, but as as not regulator issues seem to be solved.

Very good. Mr Heater makes a regulator that is more stable, but really, once you get a few metered shots through your system, the black Husky regulator does an adequate job.

Run a couple of "blank shots" of propane through your meter to get the air bled out and there's mostly propane flowing in there.

Well, when deciding what letters to put in a word, Z(ed) was at the end of the list, so by the time we'd got far enough down the alphabet, there were already enough letters.

I don't get why the decision was made to make metre into meter (because it just cues confusion), but then again there are some pretty stupid homonyms/heteronyms:
- Number (1,2,3... OR getting more numb)
- Reading (I am reading a book OR a city in the UK pronounced Red-ding)
- Compact (Compact camera OR Compact waste)
- Read (I like to read OR Yes, I read that book)
- Dear (Dear [Insert name here] OR That must be dear [Expensive])
- Alternate (Alternate identity OR We'll take alternate turns)
- Minute (A unit of time OR something very small)
- Lead (To guide OR the metal)
- Object (A thing OR an act of protest)
- Entrance (A place of entry OR to bewitch)
- Polish (To shine OR A person from Poland)
- Dove (A bird OR I dove off the building)
- Wind (You need to wind the clock OR Looks like the the wind is kicking up a fuss)

... For just a small selection, which can usually be told apart only by context. Ah, the language is royally buggered up anyway.
