Furthest shot you've made? What ammo did ya use?

I'm talking about ammo that you've actually used.

I tried making a dart earlier, but kinda gave up since I couldn't find any plans for ones that worked with a 40mm barrel.

Planz?

40mm, what could I stick down there...

A dowel stick say 1cm thick with a metal tip to keep the centre of gravity forwards, some small fins at the rear for a bit more of the same effect, maybe offset a bit for a little spin and a foam sabot in 2-4 sections to bulk it out nicely in the barrel.

...and that's all there is to it, a wooden stick, a bit of metal and some plastic fins.

You can be as paranoid as you like about the little details but that's essentially all you need for a dart.
