I am trying to power a bunch of servos rated for 4.8V-6V. I was wondering if using a 6V NiMH battery would cook the servo or not. I know that coming off the charger the 6V battery would be closer to 7V, but with load conditions it might get pushed back closer to 6V. How much over-rating can I push a servo?

So I'm wondering if anyone with experience with servos could clear this up, thanks.

Unsure. A 6v battery would stay at 6 volts, but it would be simple to rig up a rheostat or something similar. As servos are a back/fourth movement you probably need a controller, but you could try reversing the polarity, may not work with 3 pin servos though.

Cool, I'm using Hitec ones too, guess I'll go for the 6V battery then (still not too confident with 7.2V). Thanks
