Here's some stuff on my next gun (assuming it isn't halted by strict parents).

Ignition:
1/2" PVC, cut in half horizontally. Copper tape spark strip, cut with a razor saw or scalpel. Powered by a talon mini:

(80k volts) with two momentary push button switches.

Chamber:
3" Sch. 40 nsf-pw PVC. Camlock connectors (2") and venting ballvalve.

Fan:

I'm unsure if 3 pin fans work, could somebody clarify that? Custom build fan controller.

Fueling:
On-board metered propane(magnet catch for tank), or perhaps home depot pro's offboard fueling.

Barrel:
A 1.5" GB barrel and a multi purpose barrel, unsure of size. (under/over config.)

Color scheme undecided

Any input? this of course only goes ahead if the parents are ok with it..

You can cut the blue lead from the fan as it is a speed signal for a computer motherboard. Red and black will be all you will need to use.

Also, an 80 mm fan is going to be a little large for a 3" chamber. Those usually go in a 4" chamber perfectly with a little grinding off of the corners. Go for a 50 or 60mm fan for a 3" chamber.

And, unless you are going to use clear PVC for your chamber, no one will ever see the pretty LEDs in your fan.

Alright, thanks. Fan was just an example, there are also economically priced 60mm ones there without pretty lights.

Thanks

go with the offboard fueling homedepotpro used it makes the cannon so much easier to hold and handle. Plus no ugly connections on the cannon then !

Well for a 3"pvc gun I personally think your using too large of a barrel, BUT if what your looking to do is launch golfballs you'd be better served using 4" PVC, more power, then again if you have a 4" pvc gun.

If you are looking to do something a little different have you considered a dart based/ marble based design? I've had pretty darn good results with mine. It's a 3" by 14" design that can put a dart through pretty much anything and it's highly accurate.

I really like the gauntlet..especially the copper paint. I might downgrade to a .50cal or 3/4" barrel..

And I've run into another issue.. You can't get stun guns in Aus. Would a camera flash circuit dumped into a coil vaporise my copper spark strip?

BCarms will strip down a stun gun for you and send the guts as a "high voltage circuit"...should pass through customs with no problem. You could also use an electric BBQ sparker.

Your spark strip will be fine with whatever you decide to use...camera flash included.

Unless...they were looking down the barrel! (and there was no projectile  )

Finished the spark strip. 3 Gaps with plenty of space for more. It can be sparked by my ultra monster piezo just fine in case I can't get the stungun circuit or rig up a flyback/camera flash.
