Nice find. I never quite understood exactly how awesome a rotary pump is. They are so ingenious!

This guy has lots of videos like this. After I watched the compressor one, I ended up watching 4 or 5 of his others. His down to earth delivery make him easy to listen to.

awesome vid... I've never seen insides of a rotary pump

I find it esspecially interesting as it's spoken language... it's very difficult to find info on prenunciation of tech related vocabulary.. not to mention that it's hard to find them in dictionaries

@starman
ohh that's even better...
besides his english sounds more refined than american english

BTW at the end of this vid the guy said that 'fridge compressors can provide about 150 psi while AC compressors about 300 psi'

well, guess what some time ago I asked ralphd (he works as HVAC engineer) about fridge compressors, AC compressors and possibility of using them as airpumps... and he told me exactly the same thing

now... does that mean that at least in theory AC compressors should be able to deliver twice as much pressure as fridge compressors can ??

ps. sorry for hijacking every thread that has something to do with fridge compressors :wink:

but how many of us have fridge compressors ??

I noticed that too.
Probably working pressure.
Maximum pressure output, however, may be a different thing.

well yes.. you don't know if and how much more pressure youcan get from it...

but the thing is that the biggest drawback of fridge compressors is their relatively low flow which limits their utitlity for larger guns... but apart from that they are ideal

AC compressors should have enough flow for most uses... and they are easily available - at least in the US
