you can also use laquer thinner to polish a cannon, though make sure you wipe all of it off when you're done, plasticex009 did some tests on what liquids harm pvc, he put pieces of pipe in different solutions for 24 hours and laquer thinner really weakened the pvc, but just using it to polish a cannon wont hurt

You could always just use rainbird solenoid valves. Heres a link and a summary:

http://www.rainbird.com/landscape/produ ... /index.htm

Pressure: 15 to 150 psi (1,0 to 10,4 bar)
075-ASVF Flow: 0.2 to 22 GPM (0,05 to 5,0 m3/h; 0,01 to 1,39 l/s). For flows below 3 GPM (0,75 m3/h; 0,21 l/s) or any Xerigation® products application, use RBY-075-200MX filter installed upstream.
100-ASVF Flow: 0.2 to 40 GPM (0,05 to 9,08 m3/h; 0,01 to 2,52 l/s). For flows below 3 GPM (0,75 m3/h; 0,21 l/s) or any Xerigation® products application, use RBY-100-200MX filter installed upstream.
Ambient air temperature: Up to 125° F (52° C)
24 VAC 50/60 Hz (cycles per second) solenoid power requirement:
0.30 A (7.2 VA) inrush current; 0.23 A (5.5 VA) holding current
Solenoid coil resistance: 38 Ohms
Anti-siphon must be installed at least 6" (15,2 cm) above the highest point of water in the pipe and sprinklers it serves.
No valve can be located downstream of the anti-siphon valve.
UPC Sec. 1003 (2)
For use in cold water only, less than 110° F (43° C)
Anti-siphon valves must not be operated continuously for more than twelve (12) hours.

These is the valve specs that i use for my cannons. Check 'em out! :D

Ok from looking around I found to really really like the Mega-Launcher 2. On spudtech.com. The only problem is he wants $2000 for it. Now I was looking at it and thinking you could probably build it for about $300-$400 bucks right? Its really a simple gun with Supah-Valves and a sprinkler valve. The only thing that may not be easy is the electronics. Well since I do not have $2000 (if I did wouldn't be spending it on a spud gun) or even $300-$400 to pay for a spud gun I was thinking of down sizing. Has anyone ever done this? I would like to build one of these although have about 4" chambers and probably a 3" or a 2" barrel. Would that be a good ratio? Also I do not really want to spend $100 or more on a Supah-Valve. So what would be a alternate way of making this. I do not really know how a Supah-Valve works, but instead of those could I use a sprinkler valve coming from each of the chambers? The having another sprinkler valve in the middle. Or could I just have some elbows coming off of the chambers to one sprinkler valve? Please help. I would really like to make this gun in a smaller size. I really like it :D !

there are no electronics with that gun they're modded sprinkler valves on a supah +. you could make a piston valve, but you cant make a supah valve, noone will tell you how, and very few know. unless you have access to lathes and such you wouldnt be able to make one anyway. using sprinklervalves with such large chambers wouldnt give good performance, i would suggest build a piston valve or look for 2" sprinkler valves.

for the ratio it depends on the volume of your chambers and the volume of your barrel, 1:1 to 4:1 ratio's would be good

I believe that there is a diagram on this site that semi-accurately shows a model of a supah valve. Heres the link:

Dunno if its accurate; i've never purchased or built one, but i guess you could try :D.

Sorry Cole, i thought you put barrel, but upon checking, i realize that you said "combustion".Well, i'm sorry about that. I'll be more careful next time to realize what people are saying before i say something stupid like i did.
