That's a 6" chamber, and he said he used 90PSI.

Most of the time 90 psi is more than enough.
Looking at my pic I could easily shoot a spud all the way to the treeline with 90psi.

The highest Ive gotten my gun to was 120 psi and the potato was in pieces before it reached the end of the barrel.

Note: Overall the gun is safe. I insist on wearing a hoody, safety glasses, ear plugs and heavy pants when using it. The shrapnel can hurt.

He probably won't hurt himself as that cap will be the first to go, and it will just go downrange.

Still, not good to tempt it.

I don't know what order he loads and pressurizes it in, but that looks like a recipe for putting a large impact in the top of that van...

I would normally say dwv is reasonably safe, when in ABS form, but I can not be OK with DWV PVC, something not rated WITH a very violent failure method is not good for anyone...

Only reason I use DWV ABS is because I know that if god forbid... it fails, it will likely not cause my shredded death.

I just hope he isn't using C02 to fill it. A lot of those guys use C02 tanks and regulators to fill the tires.

I personally beleive that the dangers of DWV are overly exaggerated. I also think that the dangers shooting in the winter time is slightly exaggerated.

However, things like: Cleanouts, badly glued pieces, coagulated, etc are where you really need to be concerned.

I have never seen or heard of a properly glued DWV pneumatic cannon blowing up at 90psi. I have seen and heard cases of 200 psi, but that was also a 3 inch cannon. 3 inch pressure rated pipe I wouldnt trust at 200 psi.

Now just because I have not seen or heard of a DWV pneumatic cannons blowing up at 90 psi, it doesn't mean it cant happen. DWV is simply not pressure tested or rated. Since it is not rated, its best just to not use it. Its best to treat it with extreme safety. Taking DWV into the coldness of winter is not extreme safety.

Is it just the fittings/cleanout cap that are DWV? The pipe is pressure-rated...
