So far I have only tried this material in penguns and it works very well, but I just designed a 2" piston valve so expect big things in the next couple days
Cheap source of rubber
I recently went to a very cool store in my town where they recycle seemingly useless things so artists and other people can get strange things very cheap. I was looking around and saw a bunch of rubber tiles, I had no idea such a thing existed and they were only 25 cents each. I believe these ones used to be from a sample booklet but I bet if you were to go to a tile store you could probably get them very cheap. They came very with a very smooth finish that seals very well.

I just buy the 6"x6" sheets of nitrile gasketing in the plumbing department at Lowes or Home Depot. It comes in 1/16" or 1/8" thickness and it some tough stuff. Very resistant to oils and grease.
