Pellet gun hybrid?

Harnessing precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Not for the beginner.

Sorry if this is has already been brought up but the search gives like 500 results.

Has anyone ever tried to convert a pump pellet rifle into a hybrid? A micro igniter like a glow plug from a RC car or a timed, constant, or rapid spark gap right after the valve then just inject fuel when you pump it. They already have 1000fps so that plus hybrid boost would be quite something. Just a thought.

It would make more sense to have a fuel/air mix ignited by the compression of a spring gun piston.

Take a look ;)

I think it would mess up your airgun, besides being dangerous.

Been wondering about using a piston (not piston valve, a piston like an engine) inside a combustion or hybrid chamber.
It would press forward compressing (pressurizing) a large volume of air into a much smaller diameter barrel.

Similar to a spring powered air-rifle except the cylinder would be much larger and rather than a metal spring being cocked back and released, the combustion force would do the work.

Haven't studied volumes or pressures mathematically yet.
It seems a burst-disc would be useful too maybe for this idea of transforming the slow moving large mass of combustion into higher velocity lower mass projectile.
Probably been done before somewhere(?)

I have another project at the moment that is pneumatic for now. 8)

My uncle tried that, only he just put sewing machin oil in the gun and he got his pelets supersonic. The spring compression ignited the oil, and it lasted 6 shots.
