i am going to give a sinker mold a go first (although i think they might be to big for the barrel, so i might try coating it with something like high temp paint to make the hole smaller)

al-xg;

I originally tried "smoking" the mold, as I read that was the "approved" method. It just made a bloody mess of things.

I currently use no release compound/treatment on my molds, and the slugs drop right out of the split mold. I haven't been using the push molds because quite frankly, I can set up, melt lead, and cast 30 or more slugs using the split mold in about an hour. I have a container full right now...awaiting their turn "down the pipe". :)

Yeah, I've given it a bunch of thought, it just hasn't been a high priority job. Some day.... :roll: :lol:

My question about the diving shot still stands, did anyone ever use it as ammo, perhaps sieved through a sieve with a specific hole size for more regular ammo sizes?
