Ok so I decided not to spend the money on a shock pump, so I used the entire tank assembly from an old bb gun and affixed a 5.56mm barrel to it. I have been trying to shoot darts out of it but all the darts I design don't go far enough, but then when I give them more wieght, they are no longer able to sustain stable flight. Any aeronautical engineers here??? I need a good design idea. :?

Not sure what exactly you are looking for, but i would suggest taking about a 1/2'' section of pipe the same diameter as your barrel and melt hot glue into it, then stick a needle/nail in the middle.

Keep everything lubricated, makes everything work so much butter...

if its 5.56mm why not just shoot .22 cal pellets?
"physics, gravity, and law enforcement are the only things that prevent me from operating at my full potential" - not sure, but i like the quote

you know you are not an engineer if you have to remind yourself "left loosy righty tighty"

Good point, if you're shooting darts a wider smoothbore barrel is more ideal.
