Soldering brass to copper

So im just wondering i have a 1/4 brass nipple and the output of my new air conditioner compressor has a small copper tube sticking out when i slide the nipple over it it is really snug and just like a fitting.. would it be ok to solder them togther just like copper to copper?

Should be since brass is an alloy of copper and zinc... i have also had brass solder fittings before (endfeed -> thread couplers for example) in brass.

Yes it would. Brass is often used for threaded endfeed fittings in the UK, as ALIHISGREAT said.

You should not have any problems. Plumbers solder brass to copper all of the time. Valves that are designed to be soldered to copper pipe have brass bodies.
