some of you have seen both of my new designs, i am wondering if the co-ax is typically better or not. im also wondering if a blowgun alone will have enough flow to release my pilot volume quickly.

Well personally I like the tee piston valve better because its just as powerful and easier to build. And no unless its a mini you want a ball valve or sprinkler valve.
I disagree. I used a modified blowgun to pilot my .25 cal coaxial gun, which had a .5" piston and chamber. It all has to do with your dead volume and your piston's tightness. JSR has used a mere schrader to pilot some quite large guns. And no unless its a mini you want a ball valve or sprinkler valve.

Give me a lever long enough, and a fulcrum on which to place it and I shall move the world.

Current Project: None, I'm in Spudremission.

Coaxials are easier to build.
When going very advanced, a T-piston valve is theoretically slightly more powerful, but the differences are neglectable.
Whether or not a blowgun is enough depends on the piston fit, diameter and weight. Maverik is right on that.
However, if you want to avoid a higher chance of pilotting troubles, you may be better off using a simple ball valve.

I'd go with a coaxial. 1: you'll get a lot of Hats-off-to-ya's for putting in the work. 2: They look freaking cool and 3: It's a piston valved gun. Sure a lot can go wrong with it, but once it gets working, it can work well and it seems like you wouldn't have to worry with as much barrel bracing as with an over-under style gun, much like our howitzer. Good luck with either build.
my piston is made with hot glue and a rubber plate, and i am using a modded blowgun wih it, it is working just fine... Well no, a few times i have had the piston move back so fast that it got stuck :p, nuthing a small stick cant fix

Add a 1/2" ball valve and I'll think you'll notice a differencechinnerz wrote:my piston is made with hot glue and a rubber plate, and i am using a modded blowgun wih it, it is working just fine...
