My First Pneumatic Rifle

Hello anybody this is my first spud gun, I have looked around and get many ideas how to do this. I have learned many things during the construction and I hope you like it.

For now I can only get 40 psi due to my cheap air pump.

I have glued it using PVC Cleaner, Clear Primer and Medium PVC glue (the orange one).

I filled all the joints with J.B. Weld.

Specifications:

Chamber: 16" long 2" SDR 21 PVC, 200 PSI rated, sleeved into 4 SCH 40 Couplings.
Barrel: 36" long 1/2" SDR 13.5 PVC, 350 PSI rated.
Valve: 1" Rainbird Sprinkler valve piloted by a blowgun valve.
Ammo: Marbles, Paintballs
Body: 1" SDR 17 PVC, 260 PSI rated and sleeved into SCH 40 Fittings.
Stock: 3/4" PVC.
Bipod: 1/2" PVC.

Features:

- Can be disarmed in a few minutes, the tank, the main body, the stock, the bipod and the barrel mount are detachable for easy transport.

- Painted using Black Krylon Fusion.

- Detachable bipod.

- Sealed Stock and Trigger mount

Future Plans:

- Get a better pump. I have found one 400PSI Shock Pump in amazon.
- Replace the Schrader Valve with one already threaded.
- Get a decent scope and add weaver mount for scope.
- Get a better bipod.
- Replace the Blowgun because the Sprinkler Valve Honks.
- Replace the Trigger mount.

It looks good for your first... The couplings are kinda ghetto but the paint makes it look very good... Good job.

This is really nice for a first. Welcome to Spudfiles.

Your sprinkler valve honks, eh? Unless you have a faulty blowgun, then there is no reason the blwgun should be making the valve honk.

How far did you thread the fitting into it? If it is threaded too far, the diaphragm may be hitting the fitting causing it to do this. Did you remove the nozzle tip from the blowgun? The other thing I could think (which you have already pointed out) is to use a higher pressure.

very nice is there a reason you put 4" couplings over the 2" chamber(for explosions?) but other than that a very nice first cannon? o and nice way to attach the bipod and barrel to chamber link. o and if u want a better pump thats cheep i bought a hand pump from homedepot it goes up to 160 and for your pvc thats prob a little too much but yeah its a good pump its would just take quite a long time to fill that chamber of yours

Well the fitting the is in the same level of the valve cover. I have used j.b. weld cause there was a leak in the fitting.

I have removed the nozzle to allow more flow, maybe my blowgun doesn't allow a good flow as you say. I will look for another or use a ball valve. Hope this can allow me to debug the causes.

I have used the 4 couplings for 2 reasons:

1.- Get a better and clean finish, cause i would like that the chamber looks like a unique part.

2.- In case of failure, hope this help in some way.

I would like to use a higher pressure pump because I'm planning to make a full metal piston valve sniper the next time.

Like everyone else said, great job, I like the 4 coupling chamber but I dont think it will help with saftey as couplings are not much thicker than regular pipe but as long as there glued well it wont hurt, are you planning to build a high pressure pump or you could use a fridge compresser

I have calculated that my air chamber should take around of 15 cubic inches. So I'm planning to make a high pressure pump that can use in my next sniper rifle.
