I have a question in regards to ammo. Say I wanted to make stefans, but they were 1/4 inch rather than 1/2 inch. As long as they were safe and built like normal stefans wold they be applicable in the contest?

I don't see why not. The Nerf people call them "Nano Stefans" and to me they're just as acceptable as micros.

Great then, because I did some tests and the micro stefans have a much better flight trajectory. Kinda reminds me of the .17 hmr compared to the .22

I just updated the guidelines on safety, so be ready to provide an arguments on the safety of your gun.

If your just tuning in; I still need input from people like you on how the judging for the contest should be run.
I've asked

Will judging take place in the same thread that user post links to their submissions, a separate thread for judging of all the entries or multiple threads for each entry?

and I raised a concern

for the scoring, the 4 categories are clearly not worth the same amount towards the final score,

I can adjust how much each of the existing categories is worth towards a final score, or I can create new categories and possibly adjust those
I suggested a different set of categories that may be more equal

advance function: advance capabilities such as high rof, and high precision and consistent shots, etc
innovation: originality of the design or clever use of common materials
build quality: solid construction, functions reliably, aesthetic appearance

we could use these or create a more diverse set of categories of different worth, if you think a diverse set of categories worth different amount is better tell me what you think they're worth in words and maybe a 1-10 scale. I want to hear your opinion even if it has been mentioned.

Nah nah nice and shiny and it looks well made. Did you machine it? Is it semi auto? I can't wait to see the other submissions.

Thanks for the compliments. Nothing is machined. I just cut the holes out of the square tube with a Dremel real carefully. The barrel/bolt conveniently fit inside the tube and I sanded it a bit to slide freely. The whole gun is based around that really. The pneumatic parts are basically the same as the ones I used in my previous project, just with a slightly different QEV and a bigger cylinder.

Now I just have to complete the barrel to cylinder linkage and make some magazines. Hopefully everything works as planned...

Is it a paintball qev, or something of that sort? It looks great for no machining, lucky those parts fit together so well.

that is a QEV from clippard... the cool thing about them is that they have a large selection of different models.. so you can order a QEV with male threads if you need one

Nice work PVC Arsenal. I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Don't expect anything new from me before June. Running thousands of simulations is the only spud/Nerf related thing I've done recently.

if my darts dont fit perfectly can i wrap my darts in tape to get a better seal?
