Hood mount for Hi-Lift (saw a nice one on another Jeep, had a Hi-Lift, shovel and axe mounted)

Eventually, after it's paid off I'd like to swap in a V-8 with a little more muscle, but that's pretty far in the future as it'll probably also mean a new transmission and driveline. A man can dream though.

Oh, I forgot one of my planned upgrades. I'm going to try to find a crappy hardtop for a couple projects. First, I'd like to cut a hole in the top and mount a rotating paintball turret on there so I can use it as a tank at D-Day Oklahoma (ginourmous paintball reenactment of D-Day).

Second, I want to use the same hole to mount a camera with a plexiglass shield and servos to rotate/angle it. I would also have an array of weather instruments. I want to use it as a storm chasing vehicle.

OK, now that I'm not at work I have a little more time to detail things. Everything is theoretical at the moment as I don't have the money to drop on a hardtop, but here goes. I'm terrible at drawing schematics so bear with me here. Also, this wireframe was the best I could find quickly, I know it's not the model Jeep I have.

What I'm envisioning is two Tippmann A-5s which are bolted together and are fired by a crank, also known as a double-trouble. I would want the bottom part of the canopy to be round obviously and mounted solidly on the hardtop. This would be U-shaped all around and have ball bearings to allow the canopy sitting on top of it to spin freely.

The next part up would be a round section of plexiglass probably, with a widened base to sit on top of the ball bearings and rotate. A squarish hole would be cut in the front, or whatever happens to be the front at that time, and the double trouble would mount in there on a hinge so it can swivel up and down. On the back I would mount a couple sizable HPA tanks. The hoppers would be mounted on the sides instead of on the guns themselves. The top of the whole contraption would be netting stretched over a frame.

I don't think D-Day allows glass on tanks, so I might end up having to replace the windshield and side doors with netting. I hope I got the basic premise across. Anyone have criticisms or ideas?

sounds good, though why not go the whole hog and make a large calibre spudgun firing cannister shot for a more "tank-like effect?

Then you could make it like a tank with cartridges is a rack so it can be loaded and fired from inside. The barrel could have cartridges stick in from the bottom and maybe a big co2 tankto power it... Then you could have a driver, passenger with paintball gun, and the guy in the back shooting the cannon...

Also I forgot to ask... Does it have any lift? I can't really tell...

Unfortunately they don't allow large-bore weapons. They used to, but people decided to use hard projectiles instead of the approved foam ones so that privilege went out the window. Tanks can only use regular paintball guns now, but they also have the advantage that they can only be taken out by an anti-tank gunner, so it's still a formidable machine.

And yes, it does have a few inches of lift.

So what do you guys think of the basic idea?

What if you made one with say, six small barrels, and shot ten paintballs out of each... Cartridges would take a long time to make bu it'd be quite awesome.
