Yes, it is. I have never trusted my host to keep backups, and it's a good thing I didn't. I literally brought all of SpudFiles and Theopia to work on just my flash drive this morning at 7am to restore the sites.Ragnarok wrote:And that, gentlemen, is why you always keep backups...
Just about all posts should be here, they were backed up in the wee morning hours of the 28th.
However, I only make weekly file backups. So any posts that were made between the 24th and 28th that had attached images, those images may be missing. Please check your threads if they were made between the 24th and 28th with attached images, you may need to reattach the images.
I am also on a completely new server with a new host, so please let me know how SpudFiles performs.
Thanks.

Is it one of those fancy 128gb ones or something?

Interesting...irisher wrote:Maybe it's just me but when I enter spudfiles into Google it is still listed as offline however if you click on it it still works. It's not a big deal I just thought it could be driving away potential site traffic.
It should resolve it's self soon enough.

This makes me wonder if Google archives it's search pages or do the prior generated pages only exsist on/in our computers cache's?

It shows that on Google because it indexed SpudFiles during the time where the "Offline" message was up. The link takes you to SpudFiles though since SpudFiles is obviously back online now. When Google reindex's the page (which should be real soon), then it will get updated.

New spudfiles is rather intolerant. You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while.

I have to admit, I hate sites with lengthy search "time-outs". Spudfiles isn't bad (5 seconds, I'd guess - there has to be some limit on one user abusing what is a processor intensive function), but some places, it takes 20-30 seconds to reset.
Bloody annoying when you realise half a second after you clicked "search" that you've misspelt one of the search terms.
And even more so when, after waiting 30 seconds, you go back, correct it, click "search" again, then find that it's wiped all of your other search settings (often "by Username" and such other things) and the results are equally useless.

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
