so if you use PM, use it to take this up with the mods and/or PCGUY. no need to try and incent other members to your "side", as it may be.

I have nothing wrong with your inventions. it's your attitude, so don't think i'm trying to insult your work.

Is it sad that I come to this site for the drama more so than the cannons lately?
I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

I think the thing we can do is not post until a moderator cones so he wont have anything to respond too. And stu just a suggestion maybe a thread just for all your inventions, similar to the slingshot channel.

I really would like to see a moderator cone.

it isn't fun anymore when it gets into serious arguments and clogs up the entire board with posts. If you want fun, take it up via PM, as I've been saying.

Can you provide me with reasons that this topic could not have been done via PM with mods or PCGUY, or both? That's a reasonable question I believe.

The MODS are the ones violating the rules.

Man, this is the street, and the street is revolting against the MOD bullies.

Understand?

i dont think thats a good analogy. I fail to see how the mods are violating the rules. In the case of your locked thread, A) jrrdw was the one who locked it, not MrCrowley. B), MrCrowley clearly outlined the reasons for locking that topic, so I dont see how he is violating the rules.

Look, this is getting tiring. Remember the rule for all forums.

If the admin or m[g]ods do something or say something, that's it. They own and run the site, it's their territory, they do as they please.

Thankfully most admins and mods on most sites are reasonable, some may not be, you raise that with the other staff. If they think action should be taken, they will.

The internet has never, and should never be a democracy. If you don't like how something is being done you have two options: Leave, or DDoS.

Note I'm not inciting an attack on any site, the latter is almost the only other option.

If you want to feel like Spudfiles is being fairly moderated, read the Roguesci archives. That was properly unfair moderation. It's also why I think the mods here are much too soft.

That's my rant finished.

Where in the rules does it say i'm not allowed to post in a locked thread? Please cite me the specific rule for I cannot find it.

I'll leave this topic open ONLY for Stu to reply. Please respect this and do not post in this thread unless you are a moderator/admin or are boyntonstu.

edit: Stu, if you have a problem about a moderator PM PCGUY. I encourage this, you wouldn't even be the first to complain about me. You can do that or PM me myself or PM another mod but if you think it is serious enough you can PM PCGUY directly.

edit 2:
MrCrowley goes on and on about rules, and how we must respect the rules; which he did not make; only follows.

Not.
I drafted the rules, yes. Most of them were already "unwritten" rules which were here before I even joined as a member. We mods have a secret forum where the rules were posted for a couple of days (maybe even longer) to go under review by the other Moderators. All the rules also went under direct review by PCGUY and he approved them. The rules do change (very rarely) and the topic is annotated with any changes and the date the changes were made. The rules are open to discussion (rational, civilized arguments) even by members.

Even though us mods can really lock/delete/moderate any topic/post we want for whatever reason, I don't think any mod actually exercises this right for we would eventually get a lot of complaints. We try not to be Nazi's because if the members aren't happy and leave you have nothing to moderate anyway.

Stu, get a grip. Honestly, you sound like my grandmother, who has Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
Sadly my stepfather was institutionalized twice due to paranoid delusional thought disorder and severe manic depression and it all started with rambling on in conversation and not being able to answer simple direct questions.

If this is the beginning stages of mental issue's, I feel very bad for his family. I know 1st hand how hard it is to go through it, worse yet, it really never gets better but only some what controlled with medication...

I feel the need to speak up.
Moderators are responsable for keeping this forum a happy place.
Right now it isn't.

Ever since I have been a mod I have had people adress me through PM about a problem they had with Stu.
I have been trying to understand the actual issue.

When I was a bouncer, in real life that is, I had the same kind of problems.
People complain about a certain guest as being annoying, but the person in question is not breaking any rules.
This put me in an awkward position.Mostly I simply removed the individual by telling them a LIE.
Saying I had complaints about them breaking the rules and without any way of checking what happened I choose to be safe rather than sorry.

Stu, you deserve better.
Yes, a lot of people here complain.
Why?
I think I have figured it out.
This forum is for people to learn and share information about spudguns.
This is mostly appealling to 14 year-olds up to 20 year olds.
You need to respect that.

those 14 to 20 year olds do not come to this forum to get into deep discussions about , well, anything other than spudguns.
That's the reason they come HERE.

You seem to have a very wide range of interests.
Posting a thread about everything that comes to mind tends to annoy the other members here. You are using this forum in a way that is not intended.
Easy fix though: stick to spudgun related stuff with the occasional side-trip in stead of the other way around.

I know you love to discuss issues and you do not mind being " wrong" about something. But the effort you put into your posts can sometimes make you come across as a know-it-all or as stubborn.
But that's internet.
I don't think that's how you meant it. You just love the challenge.

I hope the perception most have about you can still change.
I suggest keeping your number of replies down to see if it helps.
And if someone disagrees with you, take a breather before you feel the need to put up a post in defense.

If you keep pushing , so will the forum.

In the end I will have to favor the majority despite the fact that I like you.

So, long story short: clean it up, or I will support a ban.
This situation ends now.and to the rest of the forum: back down and give him a fair chance!

If anyone feels the need to discuss this some more: PM me.
Don't waste any more of our forum space on this.

Oh man... here I go, breaking the rules posting on a locked topic!

But wait... I own this place!

Moderators are an extension of my power, I entrust them with the website and if they need to reply to a locked topic to leave a final "point", then they can do so. It's not like their abusing the power of trying to get the "last word" in on an argument, they are here to represent me and uphold the rules we set in place. Not everything can be linked directly to a rule, that's where human judgement comes in or I would have robots moderate the website. Moderators aren't allowed to do anything they want either, it's all watched over by me and they have a fairly good idea of what I want and don't want. The current mods have been around for quite a while and there is no reason to distrust any of them.

Seriously Stu, I'm not sure what is wrong with you but it's obvious that you just want to cause trouble now. Thunderlord maybe?

You talk about keeping "on point", but a huge amount of your replies to threads are so far off point that it seems like something just isn't "clicking" somewhere. You literally can't follow a conversation, so either your purposely doing it to troll or you may have an actual mental condition (which reminds me of Thunderlord even more).

I always try to work with members first before a ban, but I don't think that's possible in a case like this. I've tried to let this blow over for about a week now, to only get my PM box filled up by people demanding your banned. You haven't straightened up even when everyone else is asking you to. If your SpudFiles peers can't "help" you, then there is no way that I can.
