The tube is 6mm on the outside diameter with a .5mm wall...that makes the inside diameter 5mm...so I'm going with "no".

Yes, always be sure to check the wall thickness. I made a similar mistake a while ago and had to buy a new section of pipe as nothing would fit in it.
