? About 1.5" valve for 3" barrel

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Would a 1.5" dust collector diaphragm valve be to small for a 3" barrel? I am assuming will be fine wanted to see if anyone has any first hand experience with this set up. Thanks.

I think the power will be very disappointing....

Only thing I can think of shooting with a 3" barrel or similar would be soda canons (2.5" barrel, I know) or canned food (which apparently fit 3" barrels) and either of those choices would perform poorly with a 1.5" valve.

To put it in perspective, I get about 70m/s with a soda can using a 2" sprinkler valve at 100PSI with a modest chamber.

There is a 2 inch valve on ebay. Its also a dust collector. I was going to get one, but I have about 10 valves already I need to make cannons for. This will give better performance than the 1 1/2, but how much better, I do not know. Why do you want such a big barrel??? Anyhow, the link is below.

In testing various size barrels on my 2 inch valve cannon, 3 inch barrel will work, but with limited power. On a 2 inch valve the best power is with a 2.5 to 3 inch barrel. The 4 inch on a 2 inch valve which would be the equivalent of 3 inch on a 1.5 inch valve shows significant power loss. A lower valve CV than mine would make matters worse.
