Last night, 5 friends of mine were involved in a car accident. Rachael (the driver) had only had her P plates for a few weeks. She was distracted and lost control on a gravel road, skidding and hitting a tree.

Today, four were discharged from hospital.

Unfortunately, the beautiful Emma was not with them. She died last night in that car. She was one the kindest, sweetest, most innocent, caring and beautiful girls you could ever meet.

This has left a huge impact on the lives of so many people.. Me included

So please for the love of god, be careful, and don't do anything stupid. The consequences will be carried perhaps not by you, but by your loved ones for the rest of their lives

Very sorry to hear that ino. Fortunately most of the people I went to high school with are still living, but I can imagine the thoughts provoked by having somebody you know pass.

My condolences as well. I recently had a friend, who was practically a brother, who died in a car accident, so I know how you feel.

Wow that's pretty shocking, how is Rachel handling the news? It would be pretty tough for her to have to deal with Emma's family and such (perhaps face charges for driving with passengers on her P plates?).

In Western Australia you can have passengers while on your P-plates, given that none have been drinking etc.

The families were (and still are) all close friends- there is no blame. It was just a gravel road, at night, and she lost control.

And Warhead, I know how you feel..she was like a little sister to me

Mark, count yourself very lucky.. But the saddest part is she hadn't even finished high school, she had barely lived. But she will live on through all the people that loved her

Opened the newspaper to find this.. I don't know how things are where you guys are from, but a quarter of a page here is huge.. Just shows how many lives she touched

And they weren't even doing anything stupid... Just lost control on a gravel road. You guys who have driven in rural Australia would know how easily it can happen.. Be careful.

This is something that can never be fixed, be so careful...
