Alright, well I was just trying to make things a little more simple. I mean don't get me wrong the stuff you guys are coming up with is absolutely ingenious it's just that sometimes simpler is better :D

MrC, can you fit an AAA battery between the threaded rod and the body cavity? Probably not. Failing that, look at the list of button cell sizes - which is the biggest that fits?
I think you would struggle to get any of those button cell batteries in the body without removing the rod. The gap between the rod and inside of the body is about the size of the head of a Q-tip.

The threaded rod can be removed and replaced with epoxy if necessary.

What was the ID of the body again?

12.7mm (.500 inch) ID

Didn't I send you CAD drawings for Miniboy?

They need to make flexible circuit boards that can be rolled up slightly. If that were the case, I reckon we could fit a FM transmitter inside Miniboy.

Right you are!

I think that assembled "in the air" it can be made to fit, with a load of these to power it: http://www.all-battery.com/browseproduc ... -Card.HTML

JSR;
I still think something like this is best to try at your location based on the circuit board/schematic I supplied. About a 12mm ID for projectile.
Also this could be fully encapsulated. This would be for a new projectile.
We will get you to learn electronics somehow. :)

The receiver is slightly different.

Some views of the beeper circuit, and the vague idea in my head of what to do with it. Range is about ten metres, even through a solid wall. Still, any ideas on extending the aerial (which is integrated in the circuit board)?

I wonder if orienting the beeper that way would damage it...

uhmm I don't get it is it just a beeper or does it use RF? If all you want is sound then you might as well buy a buzzer for like 2$ or so... since you're not limited as much as mrcrowley as far as diam. is concerned then you might as well get a really powerful one (>110db or so)

Ah, but this one only beeps when you tell it to ;)

All over your garden, in small pieces :D

I attached a short length of wire to it and the range improved considerably...

Here's a keep-it-simple idea, the only disadvantage is that you can't change the battery...

I can make the above with relative ease, and I have four beeper units.

We could do it in stages, first shot running it as a basic burst disk pneumatic, if that works progressively higher mixes :D
