Looks wonderful so far!

A plunger with a spring behind it could cock the mechanism.
As pressure increases in the chamber, the plunger ( like in a bike-pump) will be forced back while it cocks the hammer.

As you fire, pressure will drop and the plunger is forced back by the spring so it picks up the hammer again.

This should work with a small diameter plunger.

my latest work
I had to put that handle because it was hard to pull the trigger without one.
Definitely not the final look, my scope has to arrive on Monday, and I need to make a risen rail for the scope. And of course some king o stock ... haven't decided on the model.

A simple piston connected to the chamber.
When the chamber is full, the piston moves the bolt one way, when the chamber is empty, the spring will push the piston in the other direction.

You can use this to auto-load without losing performance.
