It would be more accurate to say they were possessed of a level-headed morality that Christians like to describe as Christian values (which describes an ambiguous set of values that only has vague resemblance to the laws of the Bible).

In my mind, that's rather like classifying a bat as a bird because it has wings and flies. Yes, it's fairly similar in how it all works, but it has something very different underlying it.

But whether or not you choose to see that as Christian values, the Constitution and Bill of Rights still only mention religion in an exclusionary fashion, so I have to firmly disagree with your statement that lists of religious quotes are "very appropriate".
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

In Brasil, the government created an anti-gun law in 2003, that created rigid rules on firearms in Brasil, a lot of them doesn't even have sense, on the law it said that there would be a referendum in wich the population would decide if the commerce of firearms would be completely banned, and the majority of brazilians voted no. But the restrictive laws continued, and the crime rates, the huehuezims and audacity of criminals grown a lot.

I know it's not indicative of much but damn there's been a lot of shootings recently in the news. Not including gang or typical homicide shootings, I must've heard of about 5 separate incidents from North America starting with Elliot Rogers. There was Elliot himself, the Canadian guy, the college shooting, the Las Vegas shooting, and now a school shooting in Oregon.

Either this happens all the time and the media are just reporting it more than usual because of the recent shootings or some people have recently been motivated by Rogers.

Lol don't even mention Elliot Rogers. Partly white and rich guy who had misogynistic views and claimed he wants to take revenge for not getting laid. Also closely connected to The Hunger Games.

Every single aspect of that was a wet dream for the media :-)

Yeah they really lucked out on that one, the YouTube videos alone added a whole new dimension to things.

Another one in Canada.

Meh. As usual, the focus will be on the availability of firearms and not mental health issues.

To cheer everyone up, here's some more slow motion 155mm Exclaibur test footage, hitting point targets 50 freakin' kilometers away!

Some idiot commented that the 2 meter miss distance at 0:37 was a fail. Ah, youtube.

Also at 2:11 you can see a panel being blown off the Huey :D

Not to kill the flow of the Gun-Control argument, but I'd just like to point out we are on page 420. Hehehehe.
Yeah, it's that important.

Isn't it amazing ? Future generations will have so much stored data on our times and even even everyday lives of individuals... simply mind-blowing and/or pathetic at the same time

I mean do you even realize that people who lived 2000 years ago were in most respects basically just like we are ?? If you travelled back in time and gave them the internets they would start watching porn, watching lolcats and even discussing current issues on forums

Most of it is so mundane one would think it's not worth keeping. I'm pretty sure more than 90% of social media are just the banal inane musings of those dense enough to use such media on a regular basis.

Like us in that they needed to do the same four "F"s - Fighting, Fleeing, Feeding and F... reproducing. The human experience revolves around these activities, there is a bewildering variety of ways to go about it but since the aim is the same, we should not be surprised to have more in common with others than we would imagine.

Future generations? I wonder how many "future generations" there will be before we finally kill and eat each other.

Yeah, precisely my opinion. The point here is that we tend to see the past as somehow different, as most of History lessons discuss wars, kings, glorious stuff etc., but as you said most of it revolves around the four Fs of individuals and mundane everyday existence.

For us it's more like sleeping, working, feeding, fornicating...

Often one or more of those are missing in day to day life :D
