BBMG Range

I am new to the forum and had a question for the veterans/owners of these fantastic BBMGs. What is the range on a "typical" BBMG. I know that all guns are different and have various factors but what is a general range or maybe a maximum range without exceeding 450 fps? I want to make one of these for a field match but if I cant get decent range without having to aim at 45 degrees all the time then I find it pointless to make one with a longer barrel and a tank at a higher PSI. I would just make one similar to the link found below. If my question can't be generalized what range does this BBMG get, http://www.neospud.com/mark2/mark2.html . As I understand it, this is kind of a standard or model for everyone?

Without a hop-up using say 0.25g BBs, you're definitely going to have to aim up to reach beyond 50 feet. The challenge is a hop-up unit that will survive rates of fire in the 100-150 round per second range.
I would picture it as something like this:

Also, if this is for airsoft games, beware the "jackhammer effect" at close range:

Even at relatively low velocity, repeated impacts in the same area will cause a disproportionate amount of damage.

Thank you for the help. I will have to look into a hop up then for my required uses, I guess my build just became a little more complex. I guess a better question would be, if I am looking to compete with people who have polarstars, not on their level certainly, but in a sense of getting range out of the BBMG, is that possible or am I looking at the wrong solution to my problem?
I plan to be very careful close range, the field I play at has quite a few polarstars so I know whats its like to be on the other end of a powerful, rapid-fire gun. And I will be burst firing the entire time as to conserve air throughout the day as well as playing field matches so the jackhammer effect will not be a problem.

There is the possibility of a curved barrel such as the way a paintball flatline barrel works.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:The challenge is a hop-up unit that will survive rates of fire

- The curved barrel puts a spin on the ball like a hop up, but without the durability issues.

With BBMGs it'll be more "accuracy by volume" compared to the very precise metering of air with a Polarstar - but once you have the velocity range should not be a problem once you get the hop-up sorted out. Ctulhu's suggestion for a curved barrel is a good one, it's a little harder to have it adjustable though since you need a different curve depending on velocity and BB weight.
