I removed the metal piece of the fitting anyway and sanded the ring smooth for a good seat, so the barrel just slides into the seal, there is a grub screw in each of the 4 supports, I'm not expecting it to move. If it does I will have to use a compression fitting.

Got it almost finished, just needs something on the grip, but good enough to shoot it. BB's are very inaccurate, more than I expected :o , pellets though are pretty good :D

Looks great! good job! Can I ask however, why such a lomg barrel? Isn’t there a point in which
the length becomes too much and the projectile begins to
labor? espespecially smoothbore.

Never seen this approach. But that’s the beauty of DIY. It’s what we make of it.

How is the accuracy, range and speed?

Yes the barrel is probably too long lol, accuracy withh BB's is not good but pellets seem good, I need to set up a 10m target really to get a good idea. Haven't measured fps yet.

:D 10m with a barrel that long might not give you a great sighted range. If that were me I'd be setting that target back 15m minimum

I'm going to cut off one section from the front (200mm) that will take the barrel down to 550mm and make it a bit more manageable. It's in kit form at the moment as I was working on the grips.

not bad grouping. Are you happy with the accuracy and speed?

Not bad for what it is, if I could ever get hold of an old .177 rifled barrel I would like to try that
