rubbing alcohol?

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

well how would you add it? Just put some inside the chamber? I guess it wouldn't hurt because its not like rubbing alcohol would be super strong and make it blow up. I would just give it a try and see if it improves.

i would add it by putting it into the mix. i'm using an old lavender spray bottle thing.
I;m just afraid hat it would be too explosive or that it is a slow burner and will basicly burn out my cannon's chamber walls.

alcohol is very combustable...

Rubbing Alcohol is not very combustable because it is usually diluted with water.

If you want to try an alcohol based fuel try paint thinner (denatured alcohol) it is not diluted with water, lights fast and will shoot a spud very well. The probelm with alcohol as a fuel is that it is a liquid and only the vapors from alcohol burn (same with propane). It is safe and you wont blow up your cannon with it, If you are going to try it, use a spray bottle and shake the cannon (if you can) after fueling.

WHAT do you mean rubbing alchohol isn't flammable!!??
I put some in a little travel showergel bottle, and accidently got a match near it,,,,,,whoooooosh! it shot like an 8 inch flame out!!! My rubbing alchohol is 75%isoprophl though, I dont know how diluted yours is.

There is a post about somebody using purel to power his mini, which contains only about 60% alcohol.... But he was using a tini little bottle, so i'm not sure.

you can buy 99% pure iso, but I think it would evaporate to fast.

Plus it would be too hard to meter the proper amount out.

You could just use a dropper of some kind, or a mL labeled syringe. Something like that.

I think some one on spudtech made an alcohol meter with a siringe and a tube with pin holes in it. The tube was then wrapped in a circular pattern around the inside of the chamber.
