Leaking barrel

My new pneumatic gun leaks slowly through the barrel. I have narrowed it down to something with the sprinkler valve.
Are pneumatics supposed to leak a little through the barrel???
If not could anyone explain what the leak might be?

Lubricate your diaghpram,check that your solenoid is all the way screwed in.

Depending on which brand of valve you have used, the pressure on the tank might be too little. My 1" Orbit Watermaster fully pressurizes at 80 PSI and up, below that it leaks a little. After 80 PSI, it lost no pressure after even 6 hours! Good luck.

are so thats wat u were doing at bunnings on the week end j hmm just check ur valve and make sure its closing all the way

I can say that sometimes you get a valve..These valves look no different..But thye leak!And nothing can be done about it,I spent hours and days trying to fix it used greases different air pressures everything but it still leaked.So everynow and then you get a valve thats well leaks for no aparent reason.

Take the valve apart and check for little imperfections on the diaphram, make sure it's centered in the valve body just rite, make sure theres no little tiny piece of anything between the seal surface and the valve body. Does your valve have a guide rod? Mite be leaking around that???

Yes it does have a guide rod and i think thats where its leaking. How can i fix the leak around there?

Check if the valve is the right way around. It didnt leak when I tried that.

Maby a small rubber washer that fits snuggly around the rod??? Rubber cement??? You can tell i'm guessing, i never had to fix that kinda problem. Check the spud wiki section on modding a sprinkler valve, i know it discouses(sp) guide rods.

The hole around the guide rod is around 1/2 a mm gap. I couldn't find a washer that small in my shed. I dont know what rubber cement is so i couldn't try that. I was thinking of just scrapping the whole guide rod. Do i need it at all?

That would leave a bigger hole for air to leak through, wouldn't it?

Like killa says, make sure the flow arrows are pointed in the rite direction. Are you useing it to vent a piston valve? Or is it your main/fireing valve? If it's your main valve, the flow arrows must be pointed at your barrel, if it vents a piston valve, point it away from your barrel.

Na ur right about the bigger hole... But its my main valve so i need it working and yes it is the right way around.

Umm to lubricate it you can use a old paintball trick. Fill the chamber with machine oil (might be kind of hard but i kno its possible) Then gas the gun up and shoot it a few times. It should lube everypart of the gun air travels.
