I do not have accurate pressure reading information as of yet, as it has been too cold to safely re-fire. I am sure that a burst-disc made out of a piece of a 2-Liter PEPSI bottle hed back pressures in excess of 100 psi. The gauge installed in my chamber pegged hard past 100 psi (it's max) and from five feet away blew a hole in the drywall with just the air (no projectile). It takes only 76.8psi coming out of a 2.5" opening to equal 120 psi coming out of a 2" hole. This thing has awesome power. I cannot wait to launch a weighted tennis-ball. My goal has always been to launch a weighted (water-injected) tennis-ball 1/4mile. (unmodified Chamber venting through 2.5" diameter pipe with a "normal" mix would reach 300-320 yds. This was when the Chamber was merely "verping" (vomit-burping) 15 psi. I'll bet I could shoot a weighted tennis-ball 1/4 mile with the barrel straight forward now!- No more pathetic lobbing. This design is, in my opinion, extremely dangerous. DO NOT attempt to fire more than a "recommended" 2x/2atm mix. This design, when fired, is extremely loud. I have not remote-fired this, as I trusted it would not produce pressure past 130 psi. I have however, pressurized "PEPSI bottles" to 130 psi, and have had them hold at that pressure. 130+ psi venting out of a 2.5" hole will kick like a ****ing mule! - Launcher must be properly mounted to a board,cradle,...some kind of housing to prevent user from hurting themself.-- Recommend to remote-fire only!!! -I have NEVER remote fired this because I am an idiot!--- Anyway, if someone is too build this, it is very dangerous; the pressure generated, the recoil (it actually only moved my stand a fraction of an inch, but my stand has a4'x4' square BASE.

I have recently completed a NEW chamber. It consists of two pieces of 4' diameter x 12" long SCH40 PVC, joined together in the middle by a 4" SCH40 Coupling. The end of the chamber consists of a 4" Male-Threaded x 4" Female-Slip Adapter, and a 4" Female-Threaded End-Cap. The End-Cap has a Schrader Valve in it to pressurize the chamber for a 2x/2atm mix. The Coupling in the middle of the chamber was drilled and tapped to accept an NGKBPR6ES Spark Plug. The tap is a 14mm x 1.25, which requires using a 33/64" drill bit. I used a 1/2" drill bit (which is only 1/64" smaller than required) only because I knew that PVC would be more forgiving than metal to tap. It feeds the pressure generated igniting a 2x/2atm mix into a 400psi-rated one-way check valve. (The check valve's functions is not to let the pressure back out through the Chamber)-- From the check valve it goes through a mini-blowgun. (To vent the pressure that came through the one-way valve after reading the gauges...) From the min-blowgun it goes into a 1/4" tee fitting, on the top of which is a 0-300psi gauge. (The 0-300psi gauge reads the pressure generated inside of the chamber upon igniting the 2x/2atm mix) On the other side of the 1/4" Tee fitting is a 1/4" ball-valve, attached to a 1/4" elbow, and finally a 0-60psi gauge. The 0-60psi gauge reads in one-pound increments to allow for much more accurate chamber pressurization of the 15psi needed for a "2x" mix. --- the ball valve is shut off just prior to firing so tha the excessive pressure generated does not blow this valve. I fired a 2x/2atm mix, and a 3x/3atm mix today. Both mixes blew a burst-disc made from a 2-Liter PEPSI bottle at 80psi. - I will order (on Monday) High Density Polyetylene Film (30 mil thick) and retest a 2x/2atm mix. The "Film" is burst-rated at 172psi! - more later, - Thanks for your time.

im thinking about getting into hybrids but if i do it will only be something small 1" chamber to 1\2" barrell and
i will probably be in a bunker remote firing it so ill be able to take it up to 4X or 5X mixes!!! the only problem is that i want to know how much pressure its making but i cant find any check valves

you'll probably not have a hybrid left after your first 4x shot, i believe your class 18 pipe is rated to something like 300 psi? well a hybrid creating 270 (lets just say that, since L13 recorded it) would be dangerously close to the breaking pressure, but also the repeated pressure spikes will start to weaken the pipe, and it will fail eventually

yea i will and just to be safe i think ill make a bullet proof (or at least pvc proof) box that sits around the chamber so if it does blow up(and it probably will) it will be contained to that box it'll just be a few little brick walls and a sheet of metal over the top
and if it gets thru that box ill be safe behind a pile of wood or something covering my ears 8)

Thats an awesome gun, i'm new to hybrids, are they compressed air and propane or something? whats the usual ammo? sorry if its sounds stupid but anyway. How much does a basic one cost to make? And don't worry i'm not planning on making one anytime soon, i think i'll stick to the basic combustion
a good sized hybrid costs 100 and over, SCH 80 fittings and pipe are EXPENSIVE!
i mangaged to get some 3000 PSI ball valves (peak pressure meter and fuel/air shutoff) for 50 cents a piece, so i just need the pipe and fittings and i should have a full hybrid

im not thinkin about buildin a hybrid anytime soon, but where can i find sch 80 pvc? i found a supplu shop that sells conduit sch 80, but it dosent say if its pressure rated. i want to build a mini pnumatic that i can take to about 150-160 psi and i dont really feel comftable using sch 40 for that
