Make a pnumatic, In general they are a lot quieter than a similar sized combustion.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Go with a .50 and get musket balls, you’ll have to wad them but it’ll give you a lot of stopping power.
Call me "Judge", it's easier to type.

I like my 36" x 1" s40 PVC barrel with a 10" x 3" s40 PVC chamber. Very powerful and quieter than my other gun close to what you described.

you could make a silencer for your combustion, but I'd go with a small bore pnuematic rifle, and for ammo toy darts, or nails with paper towel taped on.

Make a copper pneumatic.

Its all the rage really :)

Use household size pipe and fittings and make a piston valve to fire it.
