I couldnt get my hands on any stell bearings so I either shoot really small fishing sinkers as a buck shot or a 16mm one that fits my Paintball 'Rifle'/smoothbore. Only bad thing is because they are so soft when you shoot them at metal the side goes flat :P So far ive only put a dent in 1.5mm thick steel.

oh, actually, I do shoot 1/2 and 3/4 inch ball bearings as buckshot. cuts plywood, and thin metal, such as garage doors, in half, or leaves them held together by small bits of metal.

They are among the few ammos actually capable of making holes in steel plates.

You're right about steel ball bearings being fun for slingshots, but let's address a couple points for safety:

Bounce Back Can Be Dangerous: While a direct hit from a slingshot might not cause serious injury, a bounce back can be unpredictable and potentially dangerous. It could ricochet and hit someone or something unintended.
Eye Protection is Crucial: Always wear eye protection when using a slingshot, regardless of the ammo. Even a glancing blow from a steel ball bearing could cause serious eye damage.
