I just built my first pneumatic cannon out of ABS and realized i used a heavy duty PVC solvent. Should i scrap the whole thing or trust it will hold?
Note, i have tried it out a few times. i took it to 85 psi. no leaks. seems to be ok. But from a safety standpoint?
thanks
OOPS... used the wrong solvent cement....

Oohh. I don't know about that one. Does't look like there's too many people on right now so you might want to PM someone like BC pneumatics and he could answer that for you. I dont have any experience with ABS but I would think it may not hold too well. Don't hold me to that though.

I sense a heated ABS vs PVC argument approaching...
Well, I'll start it off.
PVC has the advantage of being presure rated, and fairly strong.
ABS is more shock resistant, and can be safely used in combustions. I would use it in a lower pressure pneumatic (below 90 psi) because should it rupture, it will only rip down the side, not shatter like PVC.

No, there is no argument. A-98 is wrong, end of story, no need to argue.
And- the cannon is worthless as is. Scrap it.
