well, having just gotten my new regulator my dad has pulled the plug on my newest project so im out of the competition. he has also deemed that all i have built my last cannon this weekend, or atleast for a while.

i was going to build a cannon with a 3 foot GB barrel, and a 3" by 18 inch chamber. it was going to have supah equivalent piloted by a 3/4 sprinkler. it was going to have a co2 setup.

my biggest concern is what im going to do with the valve that pimp made for me.

anyway, im rather pissed right now, so anything that could cheer me up would be appreciated. atleast i can still go on this forum....

nope, i was just building a gun for my friend while he was at my house. he said somethig about not wanting me to "fall into the 'bigger is better' mentality". i dunno, hes just being a dick.

i was firing my cannons after dark so he told me to stop, i had no problem with that, but the out of the blue he decides that i can build my cannon.

i really hate censoring right now, i want to swear, and let the entire forum know exactly how pissed i am

Barter:
1. Wait it out, at least a week.
2. During this time, be friendly and cordial; help your Mom out around the house during this time. helping your Mom out gives you HEAPS of leverage against your Dad.
3. Figure out a reward system. Present this to your Dad and suggest that if you do A,B and C, he will allow you to continue to do H, I and J - under his rules. Make sure it is going to benefit both of you. He may be an a****** right now, but he is "king of the castle" and you need to play by his rules.
4. Express your contrite behavior in word and deed. Explain, politely and without negative emotion, what this competition means to you and what you will be willing to do differently to be allowed to participate. Ask him to help you. Really, ask him. He may be an a******, but he does have a bit of life experience with him. If not, just seriously asking him could be your key to surviving this.
Do not miss the first 2 steps... wait, and win the favor of Mom by being sweet (not sickly-sweet) and helping with household chores/tasks. Good luck

Maybe you should ask to sit down with him and try to have a serious conversation.

i havent said anything bout the competition, it wouldnt make a diff anyway.

and trying to have a serious discussion with him to try and do/get something always ends in some sort of stupid deal involving school or something. by the time i finish that the contest will be over. and im leaving for spain for a year towards the end of the summer, so i cant build one next year.

fortunately i have some decent guns right now, so i can slowly upgrade them.

I tend not to tell my parents what im building....I just reply...."Air Cannon". And they give me a funny look and disappear for awhile. If they new that I was replecating something that was used to kill a man in the 70's for the competition I wouldnt be allowed to build them. As the thing im building can easily kill someone yet it could get past most security checkpoints excluding airports.

My dad does the exact same things. He acts selfishly, and will therefore take away some of my things just because he feels like it or is in a bad mood. There is NO way to deal with him; i've tried everything :?
