hey

my camera flash broke so i have decided to build a flyback ignition system. im going to power the transformer using a camera flash though.
i have an old monitor lying around (crt) but i doubt mum will let me use it. and i cant seem to find any on ebay australia so i opended up an old computer psu and found 6 transformers in it one of which was preety big so could i use that or does it have to be out of a tv
who would of though creating a spark could be such a hassle

EDIT: mum let me use the old monitor looking for fly back now

thanks
ryan

i was the same as you not long ago but this will help you alot.
simpler is alot better:you can move onto bigger and more complicated things later. right now build your potato gun.the simplest way i thing is to get a hand held bbq sparker or ignitor(thy're the flame ones) and make a single hole in the middle of the combustion chamber thats big enough for your sparker to go in. you can also use that hole as your propellant spraying hole that way you have an accurate way to know how much propellant you need to put in
