how to mod a 1'' lawn genie sprinkler valve

Sorry: I don't know if the pictures are any good; this is the first time I've tried to post any.

This is the sprinkler valve we will be modding.

This is the steel rod, remove it by heating a paper clip until it's red hot and then using it to melt away the plastic that holds the rod. http://www.zshare.net/download/2237754e814a3c/

Now that the steel rod has been removed drill a hole were the rod was so you can tap the hole for your vent fittings.

this is the finish setup all epoxy together now put the sprinkler together without worrying about how to attach your blowgun with the steel rod getting in the way.
