Gepard is right. I beleive you can bolt that endcap on without too much trouble. It will be much like the top of a sprinkler valve is bolted down, and can e easily accesed for any problems that may occur.
You may need to mess with it a little to get the fit right.

how do i bolt it down? its not like a can get inside to put a nut there and hold it while i screw the bolt in...
i think i am going to go with schmanmans piston idea.. it will be a hassle but i am going to do it..it seems easier anyway

just use a femal adapter and a threaded bushing as an endcap.

[sarcastic] yea gepard thats smart!!! i am going to epoxy bolts in that i am goign to need to take out to service the piston! yes ill do that! [/sarcastic]
@ noname i ment it is impossible to put bolts in like that because i cant hold the bolts on the other side...it will be blocked off...
@ da pneu kid- can i get threaded bushings anywhere other than mcmaster? i havent seen them anywhere but there.. i might have to order off of there..unless ur talking about metal...that would be pretty damn heavy..i think i am jsut going with schmanmans piston idea

Spudthug, you use screws not nuts and bolts.Try some 3/4"long #10 Stainless sheet metal screws(make sure to drill pilot holes). This should cure your plug issues. But you will need an O-ring groove somewhere in there to stop the leaking.
