Nope, but I'm glad of that, it's got to be a nightmare to keep the middle aged men with a chip on their shoulder under control - no, I've not been there more than a couple of months.

I am a mod on some forums, but fortunately, they're usually quite quiet, so the only thing I need to clean up is trolls and spammers - or when people are taking deliberate ends to get around the language filter.

I have had to suspend a couple of members for a few days for consistent bad behaviour. The admin on one site allows us mods there to suspend members for... well, practically forever, if we really think it needs to be done... so we can keep the naughty people quiet for long enough for the admins to ban them permanently.

My favourite trick however is the gag lists. Put a member on these lists, and none of his posts show up in the forum, except to the person themselves, and the mods.
The member can (try to) scream his head off at people, but he gets completely ignored - and he never knows why.

Ban a troll, and often you'll get them back on another username through a proxy - but if they're unaware that they're gagged, they'll just waste time posting for a bit, then they'll just get bored from lack of replies and leave.

Well aren't you lucky... we don't have that feature on the site I help mod. Fortunatly, it's just getting started up and hasn't got anyone on there who would require it but hey, it would be something cool! And there, I can pernamently ban someone just as a mod. Were you saying that you can't? I was a little bit confused there...
